Meet two employees

Marianne Knudsen, domestic sales secretary

Responsible for Danish customers

Marianne is in touch with our Danish customers and is responsible for receiving, filing and processing orders. She also sees to it that the orders to be processed by our store are coordinated and that carriers are booked for the transportation.

Marianne started as a probationary clerk at the former DANÆG packing department in Tølløse back in 1976. When the department moved to Christiansfeld, she was offered a job at DANÆG Products A/S. She makes it clear that she is very happy about the job, her colleagues and the working place – and she really appreciates the contact with the customers.

Many development possibilities

"I can really develop here, both personally and in the job. My job functions are exciting, and I use the possibilities for in-service education." She adds,

"Among other things I´ve taken language courses so that I can stand in for the export secretary when she´s on holiday or otherwise absent. It´s another kind of challenge dealing with our foreign customers – and a nice variation!"

The management is responsive

According to Marianne, it adds to the job that the management listens and is responsive to the ideas and input of the staff.

"They listen, and so I feel that I have some influence on both my own development and that of the company – that´s highly satisfactory."

Helping across departments

The colleagues and the working conditions are other reasons that Marianne is so fond of working at DANÆG Products A/S.

"The atmosphere here is really good. We help and support each other every way we can when things come to a head, both professionally and socially. But of course not everything is rosy with us – like everywhere else we´ve also got issues occasionally." But she adds,

"There is no doubt, though, that it eases our everyday cooperation that we also socialize outside working hours, for instance when going bowling or having our yearly summer picnic."Marianne´s private life: She is 51 years old and lives with her husband in Holbæk. According to herself, she is a real family person. She enjoys having her large family close by, not least the two grown-up sons and the grandchildren.

Sengül Erdem, employed in the Long Egg Department

Knows Long Egg from A to Z

Sengül works in the department which produces Long Egg – the DANÆG speciality sold in Denmark and exported to hotels and in-flight catering companies all over the world.

All employees in this department have five breaks a day – and Sengül circulates between the positions at the machines which produce Long Eggs and the positions at the freezer quick-freezing the ready Long Eggs. Therefore, she is familiar with all the different job functions of the Long Egg production.

A good job

Sengül started at DANÆG in 1992, but was dismissed after a few years because of reforms of the company. She was, however, re-employed in 1996 – and has been in the Long Egg Department ever since. She is very fond of her job:

"I really like being here. It´s a good job that doesn´t wear you down. And then there is a nice atmosphere around – both at the production level and between us and the management. It´s as if we´re one big family. That´s just the way it is in this company", states Sengül.

Sengül´s private life: She is 50 years old and lives with her husband in Albertslund. She was born in Ankara in Turkey and came to Denmark with her 7-year-old son in 1987. Her husband has been living and working in Denmark since the mid-1970s. Today her son is the production manager at Tesa in Birkerød. Sengül and her husband have one grandchild – and one more on its way!
